1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Is It AI? ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Is It AI?. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Service Description

Is It AI? provides AI content detection analysis using multiple third-party detection APIs and proprietary analysis methods. Our service returns probabilistic results, not absolute proof.

The Service includes:

• Text content analysis for AI detection
• URL content extraction and analysis
• Confidence scores and verdict explanations
• Usage tracking and account management

3. Account Registration

You may use Is It AI? without an account (subject to daily limits). To access additional features and higher limits, you must create an account.

When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Be at least 16 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use Is It AI? as the sole basis for determinations about academic integrity, employment, legal matters, or any decision with significant consequences
• Submit content you do not have permission to analyze
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent our detection methods
• Abuse rate limits, use automated scraping tools, or overload our systems
• Submit malicious content including malware, phishing links, or illegal material
• Share your account credentials with others or operate multiple free accounts
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws

5. Rate Limits and Pricing

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers. Unused scans do not roll over to the next billing period.

6. Payment and Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• You can cancel anytime from your dashboard; access continues until period end
• Prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable

7. Refund Policy

We offer refunds under the following conditions:

• Within 7 days of purchase: Full refund if you have used less than 10% of your monthly scan quota
• Technical issues: Pro-rated refund if persistent technical issues prevent service use

To request a refund, contact hello@isitai.co.uk with your account email and reason for refund.

8. Intellectual Property and Content Storage

You retain all rights to the content you submit for analysis. We claim no ownership over your content.

As described in our Privacy Policy, we store a preview of your submitted content (first 200 characters) along with the detection result for up to 90 days. This helps us improve our service and understand usage patterns. Full content is not retained beyond the analysis request.

Is It AI?, its logo, design, and underlying technology are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of our Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Is It AI? and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

• Incorrect detection verdicts or confidence scores
• Academic penalties based on our results
• Employment decisions informed by our analysis
• Legal consequences based on our output
• Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Your Data Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have rights including:

• Right to access your personal data
• Right to rectification of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
• Right to data portability
• Right to object to processing

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in abusive, fraudulent, or illegal behavior
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or security measures

You may close your account at any time from your dashboard. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email (for registered users) and by posting a notice on our website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when these Terms were last revised.
